The Lone Supernatural Ranger?
As we reported before, the writers of Pirates of the Caribbean are in the process of writing and finding actors for The Lone Ranger. Johnny has been confirmed as being on tap to play Tonto, the legendary side kick, though the part of the Lone Ranger himself is still up for grabs. Many rumors have circulated that George Clooney is on tap for the role, but Jerry Bruckheimer recently stated that they haven’t given the script to anyone in particular yet - they’re still working on it.
While discussing it, though, Bruckheimer also said that the big screen revamp will take a page from the Pirates trilogy, and include a new supernatural element. He didn’t go into details of course, but it certainly would open up different directions that he could possibly take the film.
What do you think? Should they keep it realistic, or head into some unknown territory for the Lone Ranger and Tonto?
