The rumors have surfaced once again - is Johnny Depp going to finally walk down the aisle with Vanessa Paradis? According to MTVuk, the answer is yes, and that it will happen in a chapel on the grounds of their estate in France, sometime in late April. The rumors have been circulating since Johnny was seen shopping for an engagement ring in California.

According to previous reports, the main thing keeping them from getting married was that Johnny adores Vanessa’s surname, as he loves the way her name sounds, calling it perfect and beautiful. “It would be a drag to stick her with Paradis-Depp! It’s like a flat note! But if she ever said ‘Hey, let’s get hitched’, I would do it in a second.”

Awwwww! Could he BE any more perfect?

We all know that they are a private couple, so it’s no surprise that there’s not a single confirmation from Johnny’s people about the possible wedding. If it is in the works, we fully expect it to be as MTV said - small and intimate as possible, with 50 or so of their closest friends. Naturally it’ll still be a star-studded affair, as we know Tim Burton and wife Helena Bonham-Carter will certainly be in attendance, with Burton standing as best man. I’m not sure how understated it can be though, if rocker Keith Richards shows up too!

To add to Johnny’s upcoming gigs, it was reported today that he’ll soon join Sponge Bob Squarepants in Bikini Bottom. ET reports that he’ll provide the voice for surfer “Jack Kahuna Laguna” in an upcoming special, “Sponge Bob vs. The Big One.” Good thing my kids already watch the silly sponge, I won’t have to sneak the episode in on the sly!

We all know Johnny is a hard man to find - but when he does come out and face his adoring fans, he always has something to say, something that reminds us how grounded he is, and just why we love him. One thing he’s never shy about talking about his love for his family. He told Britain’s Psychologies magazine recently that he “could sit there all day and do nothing but watch them grow. I’m totally inspired by them.”

Them = his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and the kids, Lily-Rose and Jack. He credits Vanessa with giving him the proper perspective and understanding in his life, adding that they have “a miraculous understanding of each other.”

Would that we all had that! When asked about his more memorable roles, Johnny admitted that he was “a million percent in love with Edward Scissorhands,” so much so that his last day of filming had him looking in the mirror for a sad goodbye to the character. He also loved Pirates, naturally. He and Orlando Bloom would look at each other and “say ‘We’re actually getting paid to do this?’”

Of course, he had to get in a dig or two about his celebrity status, and how he never wanted to be the guy people looked at. “It’s too mortifying.” Not on our side of the coin, Johnny, not at all!

In other news Depp’s production company Infinitum Nihil purchaced the screen rights to a movie about Dante Alighieri, based off the book “In the hand of Dante” by Nick Tosches. The book gives the reader a parallel story of a modern day and a 14th century artist, Dante, and Johnny will be playing the role of the modern day artist.

Depp’s longtime girlfriend of 10 years, Vanessa Paradis, recently spoke about their relationship - when the magic happened, what she thinks of his being a sex symbol, and any future plans. Vanessa said they were in different worlds when they first met, seeing each other often over about four years. The magic didn’t happen until they found each other in Paris, where both were not dating anyone, and they were free - “It was just instant. There was no more time to waste - just no way around it.”

Vanessa swears she didn’t tame the super sexy star who’s dating exploits before her were well known, from Winona Ryder to Kate Moss. “Like a lion?” she said, “No, no, we did it to each other.” She added that maybe she was a good girlfriend only because she is HIS girlfriend, and vice versa. (I dunno, I think any of us would be an excellent girlfriend if the other half of the equation was Johnny! Just sayin’!) She continued to gush, though, saying that “it’s difficult to explain, but it’s something that’s natural, obvious and beautiful.”

Do the parents of Lily Rose (9) and Jack (6) plan to marry anytime soon? No, says Paradis, adding that they “don’t talk” about it much. “He’s got me, and he knows he’s got me.” Who needs more then that?

She does understand our attraction to her hunky notHubby. “I want to mop him all the time, I do!” she said, because he’s a very charming person.

Yeaaaaaaah. His charm. THAT’S what we’re after!

Johnny has bought a new house for himself, Vanessa, Lily-Rose, and Jack! According to reports, Johnny has bought a $2.6 million, 150-year-old Somerset mansion in Britain’s West Country. Apparently, he fell in love with it as soon as he saw it.

Reports are that he, Vanessa, and the kids are waiting for $5 million dollars worth of renovations to be done before moving in. There’s also talk that he is planning to install a helicopter pad and swimming pool!

“He’s made regular trips overseeing the work,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.
Johnny already owns homes in France and the United States, as well as his island in the Bahamas.

Looks like there’s not much chance of the family being homeless anytime soon! Those old British mansions are lovely. I wonder if they’ll release any photos of the renovations. Seeing how he and Vanessa decorate the place would be wonderful!

Canada.com has published the results of an online survey by Grohe, a manufacturer of bath, shower, and kitchen products. The survey reveals just what Americans and Canadians do while in the shower.

In addition to singing, people admit that they’ve made some of the biggest decisions of their lives while soaping up-things like moving, changing jobs, getting married or divorced, having kids, etc. North Americans report multi-tasking, such as having sex in the shower, or cleaning the shower while they’re cleaning themselves! Now, if only we could get those two groups together!

Then, the discussion gets around to the celebs we’d most like to have in the shower with us! Naturally, Johnny tops the list of males, along with George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Favorite females were Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, and Pamela Anderson.

Now, I could go along with having Johnny in my shower-and not just ’cause my back needs scrubbing! How about the rest of you out there?

Johnny’s Pirates of the Caribbean co-star, Keira Knightley, is the new face of Chanel. And is her ad ever sexy and gorgeous! Keira’s posed only in a strategically placed bowler hat and white shirt!

A Chanel spokesman was quoted on Sky Showbiz as saying:

“We think Keira is perfect because she is always incredibly alluring and seductive.

The Times of India is reporting that Johnny has bought a penthouse loft in the Eastern Columbia Building, considered to be one of the most beautiful of Los Angeles’ historic buildings. The penthouse has private decks and full views of downtown, and the San Bernadino mountains.

Apparently, the price was $2 million. Neighbors include T.R. Knight, of Grey’s Anatomy and Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling. Guess you can’t spend all your time living on an island! Especially when you’re working! Congratulations to Johnny and Vanessa and family on their new digs!

Will Johnny and Vanessa Paradis finally tie the knot? Showbiz Spy reports that the wedding bell buzz has reached deafening proportions in Paris, and that the two could be married by the end of July.

Of course, we’ve heard all this several times before. The most recent buzz was earlier this year when Johnny and Vanessa’s daughter, Lily-Rose, was recovering from a serious illness. The two have been together since 1998. It’d be nice to see a wedding between the two. Maybe for their ninth anniversary together?
